The Best Ways You Can Meet People in Person

As the world becomes increasingly digital, finding meaningful connections in person can feel challenging, especially with the rise of online dating apps. While I love online dating, I met my husband on there. I also believe online dating has its place; meeting someone in person is still a powerful way to connect.

Sometimes, getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new can lead you to someone special. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the best ways to meet people in person and hopefully, help you find that special someone.

1. Attend Social Events

Social events like social club parties, special clubs, fundraising events, trivia nights, and networking events are a great way to meet new people. For example, if you love pickleball, look for a pickleball club in your area and attend their events.

This way, you’ll be able to meet like-minded people who share your interests. You’ll have something in common and feel more confident in a setting where people are passionate about the same things as you are. To find events in your local area, check out Event Brite as they have tons of local events going on that cater to your interests.

2. Volunteering

If you love being around giving people, then this tip is for you! Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and do some good at the same time. You’ll have the opportunity to work side by side with others, which can create a sense of community and lead to new friendships.

Look for local charities or organizations that align with your values and interests. Volunteer Match is a great organization that offers people the opportunity to volunteer for different non-profits and do a single event or more. This way, you’ll be doing something you enjoy and meeting people who share your values.

3. Join a Group Sports League

Where can you get active, make new friends, and have a party all at once? Joining a group sports league can be a great way to meet new people and build a strong community.

Adult sports leagues like Club Waka have had many relationships and marriages come out of their events! Not only will you get the chance to connect with others who share your interest in fitness, but you’ll also get the benefits of staying healthy and improving your physical well-being.

Here are more creative ways you can meet people in person, check out the video below!

4. Take a Personal Development Class or Workshop

They said birds of a feather flock together. If you are a growth mindset person, why not surround yourself with others that are the same? It is a great way to learn new skills and expand your group of like-minded connections. That is exactly why I created the Path to Love program to help singles realize they can have a supportive community to help build their confidence through their dating journey. Having a safe space where you can be vulnerable and real is very powerful in the process of transformation.

Look for classes that interest you or something you’ve always wanted to learn. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn how to write a book? Or you are a big Ted Talk fan and want to go to a live event! You’ll be surrounded by other people who are there to learn, which can create a sense of community and lead to new friendships. I actually know a few people who met their spouses going to a personal development workshop, so you never know what doors it can open.

5. Attend a Meetup

Meetup.com is a platform that allows people to create or join groups and attend events based on their interests. You can find groups for just about anything, from hiking to photography to book clubs.

The best part is, these events are specifically designed for people to meet new people. Attend a few events for groups that interest you and see if you connect with anyone. Who knows, you may find your next date or even a new best friend.

Meeting new people in person may seem intimidating at first, but it doesn’t have to be. By trying these different ways to connect with people, you’ll be able to expand your social circle and maybe even find that special someone.

Remember to always be authentic and have fun along the way. The most important thing is to be open to new experiences and new people. Who knows where it might lead you?

If you are ready to find your person this year, I believe my masterclass can help make the internal shifts to attract someone at your level. Click here to grab your seat!
