5 Signs Someone Is Really Into You

I spent years dating people who kept me guessing. You know the type…they’d make me feel like I was on top of the world when we were together, but the moment we were apart, I felt completely non-existent. Sound familiar?

Here’s what I’ve learned through my own journey and coaching countless singles: when someone is truly into you, you shouldn’t have to play detective. A healthy relationship shouldn’t feel like solving a mystery. That’s not conscious dating…that’s just exhausting.

So let’s talk about the real signs that someone is genuinely interested in you. Not the surface stuff. Not the games. The authentic indicators that this person is showing up for you in a meaningful way.

1. They Do What They Say They’ll Do

This is non-negotiable, and honestly, it should be at the top of everyone’s list. When someone is really into you, their words match their actions. Period.

If they say they’ll text you later, they actually do. If they mention wanting to see you again, they follow through with an actual plan. They don’t leave you wondering if that “we should hang out sometime” was genuine or just something people say.

I call this consistency, and it’s one of the most underrated signs of real interest. Anyone can be charming on a first date. But someone who shows up consistently? That’s someone who’s serious about getting to know you.

The Conscious Dating Takeaway: Pay attention to the follow-through. It tells you everything you need to know about someone’s intentions.

2. They Make Time for You (Even When Life Gets Busy)

We’re all busy. I get it. Between careers, obligations, and just life happening, everyone’s calendar can feel overwhelming. But here’s the thing: when someone is genuinely interested in you, they don’t use “busy” as a chronic excuse.

They might not be able to see you every single day, but they make an effort to connect. Maybe it’s a quick phone call during their lunch break.

Maybe it’s a thoughtful text checking in on something important you mentioned. Maybe they rearrange their schedule to make a date happen because spending time with you matters to them.

Someone who’s really into you treats you like a priority, not an option they’ll get to when everything else is handled.

The Conscious Dating Takeaway: Look for effort, not just availability. The right person will find ways to show you they care, even during their busiest weeks.

3. They’re Curious About Your Life and Actually Remember What You Tell Them

Real interest shows up in the details. When someone is into you, they ask questions about your life, your dreams, your day, your weird obsession with 90s sitcoms…whatever makes you YOU.

But it goes deeper than just asking questions. They actually listen and remember. They bring up that work presentation you were nervous about.

They ask how your best friend is doing after you mentioned she was going through a tough time. They remember your favorite dessert or that random story you told about your childhood pet.

This isn’t about having a perfect memory. It’s about someone paying attention because they genuinely care about understanding who you are.

The Conscious Dating Takeaway: Someone who is emotionally invested in you will show it through active listening and genuine curiosity about your world.

Find healthy relationships to be boring? You might be mistaking trauma for chemistry.

4. They Introduce You to Their Life

When someone sees a future with you, they start naturally integrating you into their world. This doesn’t mean meeting their entire extended family on date three (that would be a bit much!), but it does mean they’re not keeping you in a separate bubble.

They mention you to their friends. They invite you to things that matter to them. They talk about future plans that include you. Even if it’s something as simple as “there’s this restaurant opening next month, we should check it out.”

Someone who’s hiding you or keeping you separate from the rest of their life? That’s a red flag. But someone who’s excited to have you be part of their world? That’s someone who’s all in.

The Conscious Dating Takeaway: Integration is a sign of intention. When someone wants you in their future, they start making space for you in their present.

5. They Communicate Openly (Yes, Even About the Hard Stuff)

This is a big one, and honestly, it’s what separates a genuine connection from surface-level dating. When someone is really into you, they don’t disappear when things get a little uncomfortable or vulnerable.

They talk about their feelings. They ask about yours. If there’s a misunderstanding, they address it rather than ghosting or giving you the silent treatment. They’re willing to be a little uncomfortable in order to create real intimacy.

Look, no one’s perfect at communication. We all have moments where we don’t say exactly the right thing. But someone who is genuinely interested will try. They’ll show up for the conversations that matter, even when they’re nervous about it.

The Conscious Dating Takeaway: Effective communication is one of the most important relationship skills. When you find someone who values open, honest dialogue, hold onto that.

Here’s what I want you to remember: You don’t have to settle for breadcrumbs or mixed signals. You deserve someone who shows up for you consistently, who makes you a priority, who’s genuinely interested in who you are, who includes you in their life, and who communicates openly and honestly.

So pay attention to these signs. Trust your gut. And most importantly, remember that you’re worth showing up for. The right person will prove that to you through their actions, not just their words.

If you find yourself in absolute confusion when it comes to dating, and would love to be intentional with dating (bringing certainty in a world of dating uncertainty). I can help. Schedule a Free Relationship Readiness Review with me here.

Happy Anniversary to my hubby, the love of my life. ❤️

14 years ago I said “I do,” and those two small words forever changed everything. Since then, we’ve grown into the best versions of ourselves… supporting each other, lifting each other, and loving each other through every season of life.

I wouldn’t want to do this life with anyone else. I absolutely love you, today and always. ❤️

The most attractive thing you will ever do is decide you are no longer available for disrespect! 💌 Save these as a reminder!

Real love. I’m talking about lasting love… meets you. It doesn’t make you beg for it.

So if you’re sitting here reading this wondering why you keep attracting the same kind of person, I want you to ask yourself one honest question: What am I still available for that I know I shouldn’t be?

Because the most powerful thing you will ever do for your love life isn’t downloading another dating app or going on another date.

It’s deciding firmly, unapologetically, and with full self respect that you are no longer available for less effort, lazy love, confusion, or anything that makes you question your worth.

From now on that is your standard. That’s the version of you that attracts everything you actually deserve.

And trust me, love starts with YOU. 💛
